The simulator was extensively equipped with new technology after having been used as an event simulator in the Stuttgart area for many years. New features include a 240° all-round screen, laser beamer projection and the complete integration of the overhead panel and the central pedestal. The control horn, thrust levers and pedals were upgraded to electric motors. The cockpit is therefore so well equipped that it is used for official training courses.
Thanks to the use of electric motors, the inputs to the steering column (yoke) and pedals (rudder pedals) are as realistic as possible, and the steering column moves independently, both vertically and horizontally, when the autopilot is switched on. The thrust levers also move back and forth automatically – just like in a real airplane. Something special in the event sector. By incorporating the overhead panel, all switches are integrated into the systems. The fly747 flight simulator is even used for official training (type rating 747-400 OTD) by international airlines!

Photorealistic sceneries are currently displayed for the following airports and their surroundings: New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, London, Tokyo, Seychelles, St. Marteen, Palma de Mallorca with Balearic Islands, Tenerife with Canary Islands, as well as Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne-Bonn and Düsseldorf. The 747-400 is a 2-man cockpit! This means you can bring your co-pilot with you and he can support you. He sits next to/behind you and has the same control organs as you. You can therefore split the flight and halve the cost. Because: the accompaniment is included in the fare.
There are 4 seats in the cockpit, one of which is reserved for the instructor. Another person can take a seat in the rear area.
